It’s time for tree planting and grow bee-favorites in your garden and landscape.

If you have any plan to grow evergreens in your garden then it is the best time to go for it. Deciduous and fruit trees are best left till the winter comes in. At this time in the April month you can certainly start planning what you’re going to plant.

Bee favourites include apple (Malus spp.), bay laurel (Laurus nobilis), kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa), lemon, orange, grapefruit (Citrus spp.), pear (Pyrus spp.), plum, peach (Prunus spp.), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) and Lavender (Lavandula spp.)

It is extremely important to make sure that you select cultivars that are attractive to bees. Choose single flowers rather than the showier doubles and triples, and go for simple, traditional flowers rather than those that are highly modified.

You can easily find umpteen nursery catalogues and websites suggesting you which cultivars attract bees. You may also take help from an expert gardener at the garden center in your locality.
